Braiding
Nitinol Braiding Technology
A braid refers to any object created by interweaving or twining three or more separate wires of one or more materials in a diagonally overlapping pattern.
Braiding options include:
Continuous Braiding
Closed Single Wire Braiding
Continuous Braiding
The possibilities of the braiding process include hybrid braids made of two different wires diameter. Very small structures can be produced using braiding techniques, e.g. very small braids with a diameter of 0.4mm can be manufactured with wires of a diameter of 35µm.
Closed Single Wire Braiding
The main advantage of this structure is the endless structure of the braid because of the use of one single wire. There are no free ends like in braided structures and only two ends of one wire have to be joined together.
