Wire Forming
Nitinol Wire Technology is applied for medical implants, such as Baskets, Filters, Guidewires, Wire-Stents and Occlusion Devices. It allows the wire structuring of very small Nitinol components, which can rarely be produced with other technologies.
Nitinol Wire Technology
Wire technology relates to the technological processing of one or more wires. It includes:
- Wire shape setting
- Nitinol coil winding
- Joining by laser-welding or crimping
- Grinding
- Braiding
Wire Shape Setting
Wire shape setting enables the manufacturing of two and three dimensional medical implants with complex shapes where the geometry is fixed. This is achieved by applying a thermal treatment which fixes the shape of the wire.
Nitinol Coil Winding
Nitinol wires can be wound on Mandrels in order to produce Coils. Those coils can be used for Guide Wires or for other medical applications.
Laser-welding
With our special laser welding equipment, Wires can be welded together in order to join them.
Crimping
The crimping technology enables the join of two or more Wires with a Crimped Tube.
Grinding
With the grinding technology partial diameter reductions and grinded wire ends can be produced.
Braiding
A flexible braiding technology provides wire mesh structures with various patterns for products like Stents or Filters.
